The son of a truck driver, with a modest middle-class upbringing, Bob Lomison '77 came to Lock Haven State College in 1974 simply because of its scenic beauty and its proximity to his hometown of Montoursville, Pa.

Little did he know, his Haven experience would help launch an incredibly rewarding career, and that he would still be a proud and loyal member of The Haven Family nearly five decades later.

“Lock Haven University changed my life. I would not have had the wonderful career or so many of the special friendships that I have without The Haven. It’s truly an honor that my gift will continue that legacy and help do the same for future generations of education students who ‘Come Home to The Haven.’”

Planned giving at Lock Haven University gives alumni and donors an opportunity to define their LHU legacies by making a significant and long-lasting impact on the programs and teams that matter most to them. And, now, with a multitude of giving options available to help donors fulfill their philanthropic destinies, becoming a member of LHU’s Legacy Society and empowering future changemakers by providing a planned gift to The Haven has never been easier.

Bruce Partkhill ‘71 proudly supports the LHU athletic programs he once competed for, along with other initiatives he is passionate about, like the Tau Kappa Epsilon Scholarship. However, now living strictly off his retirement savings, Parkhill is lauding the Legacy Society as a wonderful way for Lock Haven University supporters unable to make a major gift in the present to still be able plan a substantial gift to LHU for the future.
