WHAT IS THE HAVEN FUND AND HOW ARE THE CONTRIBUTIONS USED?
The Haven Fund, formerly known as the Annual Fund, is our yearly effort to raise funds for Lock Haven students, and is truly the lifeblood of the university. It infuses much needed resources to many areas including: student scholarships and financial aid, technology, student and faculty research, library materials, athletic programs, student clubs, organizations and activities, campus safety programs, student leadership programs, and more. Annual Fund contributions are important in bridging the gap between tuition and the true cost of a Lock Haven education.
HOW WILL MY HAVEN FUND GIFT MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
When you give to The Haven Fund you make a difference where it’s needed most. Whether it’s student scholarships, experiential tools that enhance successful outcomes or emergency funding that keeps students at The Haven, your gift helps Bald Eagles soar to professional success. The Haven Fund bridges the gap between tuition and the true cost of an education.
HOW CAN I OBTAIN A MATCHING GIFT FOR THE LOCK HAVEN UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION?
Depending on what your employer requires, you can initiate a matching gift in one of the following ways: by obtaining a matching gift form from the company and sending it along with a personal donation or by providing proof to the company, via a receipt for acknowledgement from LHU that a gift was made. The matching gift program is a simple way to increase your contribution to The Haven. Check with your Human Resources department to see if your company will match your gift.
ARE ANNUAL FUND GIFTS TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
Yes! Gifts to the LHU Foundation, a 501c(3) charitable organization, are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
What is the LHU FOUNDATION’S FISCAL YEAR?
Our fiscal year begins July 1 and ends June 30.
